"Dinner for a Cause": Gallery 759 Supporting Skeleton Crew Adventures

Last Friday, November 1st, Gallery at 759 Main had the privilege of sponsoring a heartwarming and impactful event, "Dinner for a Cause". Held at El Toro Steakhouse in Winchendon, MA, the evening brought together approximately 120 guests to a night of fine dining, community spirit, and a shared commitment to support Skeleton Crew Adventures, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering veterans and first responders through adventure therapy on the open sea.

A Night of Purpose and Support

Skeleton Crew Adventures has a mission close to our hearts at Gallery 759. This non-profit journey started at sea, with Hell or High Seas, where Taylor Grieger and Stephen O'Shea’s story and commitment to ushering more care to veterans and first responders with the tools and support they need to overcome PTSD and related challenges. To contribute to this meaningful cause, we organized a silent auction featuring some of our finest military-themed memorabilia, including rare items that honored the bravery and sacrifice of our military heroes. The auction was a success, generating $2,000 in funds—all of which will directly benefit Skeleton Crew Adventures in their ongoing work to uplift and empower.

The Evening’s Exquisite Menu

El Toro Steakhouse created a truly memorable culinary experience for the night. With the collaboration of Cape Horn Tequila and Skeleton Crew Adventures, the chefs at El Toro curated a five-course meal paired with tequila cocktails that perfectly complemented each dish. Here’s a taste of the evening’s menu:

  • Cocktail to Start: Skeleton Crew Paloma, a refreshing blend that set the tone for the night.

  • First Course: Grilled Romaine with Crispy Pancetta, served with El Toro’s creamy dressing, lemon zest, and aged Parmesan—a delightful take on a classic Caesar.

  • Second Course: Brown Butter Scallops in a Creamy “Cape Horn” Tequila, Caper, and Shallot Sauce—a rich and flavorful seafood dish elevated with a hint of Cape Horn Blanco Tequila.

  • Intermezzo: Lemon Sorbet with a Luxardo Cherry Tequila Blanco Reduction—refreshing and palate-cleansing.

  • Main Course: Filet & Mashed Potatoes, paired with a Cape Horn Reposado Margarita—a savory, satisfying entrée that was a crowd favorite.

  • Dessert: Bread Pudding with a Sweet Brown Butter Glaze—a perfect, warm end to the meal.

An Evening of Connection and Generosity

The "Dinner for a Cause" event beautifully showcased the power of community and the difference we can make when we come together. Between the incredible support from attendees and the skillful work of El Toro’s culinary team, it was an evening filled with laughter, inspiration, and heartfelt stories. As a gallery dedicated to celebrating history and legacy, it was an honor for us to be part of an event that supported our military and first responders—our community's true heroes.

We are grateful to everyone who attended, donated, and helped make this event a success. Special thanks to El Toro Steakhouse for the exceptional dining experience and to Cape Horn Tequila for their generous partnership. Together, we raised both awareness and crucial funds to support Skeleton Crew Adventures' mission.
